Brief Description:
20 hours/week assistant ESL teacher alongside local English teachers in the under-funded, over-crowded municipal schools.
Semester (3 month min) commitment
Requirements:
Minimum age 22
Experience: preferred previous work with children
Language: Native English speaker, Intermediate Spanish level (or take classes)
Education: preferred college degree or similar
Criminal background check
Conditions:
Volunteers must make a $250 deposit to secure their placement
Volunteers must live with a host family for the first month
Volunteers must take 3 weeks Spanish course (with 10% discount)
Highlights:
10% off Spanish classes
Available College Credit for Volunteer work (under Spanish Conversation)
Great 'Immersion' Spanish practice for volunteers
Looks great on a resume
Amazing place to live - next to the beach! - for 3 months
